Do you dream of publishing your own game and not sure where to start? Dare to be a Game Maker will help you fulfill your dream. Using the versatile game programme Game Maker, this course is led by a veteran game designer who has over 20 years experience in software development, involving several high profile projects, and who knows a few tricks about how to tailor your game for the commercial market.
Description:
Learn to use Game Maker; the renowned game design software and get to grips with the concepts of good game design and production. This is a project-based course, with participants producing their own game, ready for release on the Android market.
Don't hesitate. You could be the next Mojang and beat Minecraft!
Course Structure:
Week 1 - Introduction to Game Maker
Week 2 - Designing your Game
Week 3 - Planning and Project Kick-Off
Week 4 - 6 Project
Week 7 - Beta and QA
Week 8 - Polishing, Bug fixing and Publishing
Who is it for?
Any game enthusiast aged 17+ who has a game idea and wants to publish their own game. You will also need to have some basic computer knowledge. Some participants may be stronger in art than in programming or vice versa. It should be pointed out that this is a solo project so you will need to know your limits. However, it may be possible to find partners at the course to co-operate and work on a game together.

About the Tutor:
Brian Lawson is a games industry veteran with several well-known titles under his belt, including Grand Theft Auto and All Points Bulletin. He has been involved in almost every aspect of game design and software development in a career spanning over 20 years.
