Dare roadshow a success
5th March 2004
Dare's first ever roadshow, taking in Dundee, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen has proved to be a great success with over 135 students attending the sessions, interested in taking part in this year's Dare.
So, what went on? The 4 sessions, which took place over February and March, included talks from Dare to be Digital organisers Jackie McKenzie and Sarah Johnston, Julia Bond from BBC Scotland, expert scriptwriter Mark Grindle as well as Damian Furlong and Barrie Elder, who both took part in Dare 2003.
An element of fun was added to each session in the form of an 'ice breaker' game, which encouraged students to talk other students in the event other than their mates, and to meet potential team members. Some lucky students even came away from the event with an Xbox game and t-shirts.
The roadshow has come to an end, however there will be one final chance to hear about Dare at the Scottish Students on Screen Awards and Screenings at the Dundee Contemporary Arts cinema, on Friday March 19th from 10am.
