2007 was the first year that Dare was hosted in other locations, other than just Scotland. Queens University in Belfast became a host centre for the summer, hosting Northern Irish team Bathroom Buccaneers and Irish team Heaven2Ocean. Bathroom Buccaneers were 3 Computing Science students and 1 Computer Games Development student from the University of Ulster and 1 Modelling student from NWIFHE. Their game saw players becoming the captain of a mini Pirate Galleon - in a bathtub, dodging soap-bergs and shampoo bottles! H2O: Heaven2Ocean were the team representing the Republic of Ireland and were 3 Multimedia students from Dublin City University and 2 Games Development students from Carlow Institute of Technology. This 2D puzzle platformer tested reaction times and skills in logical thinking as you tilted the world in order to guide a body of water through levels filled with hazards and obstacles. This team were one of the six finalists at Dare ProtoPlay. Play both games here.
